ECO FAQs
-
How does the ECO scheme work? The UK Government's ECO scheme offers grant funding for energy efficiency measures in homes across the UK. Although set out in law by the government, the scheme, also known as the Energy Company Obligation, requires energy companies to promote energy saving measures and upgrade their customer's homes. As a registered installer of ECO measures, we have direct access to funding to carry out these upgrades in your home.
-
Will I definitely be eligible for energy saving measures? The ECO4 scheme has a number of requirements that must be met in order for us to secure your grant funding. One such requirement relates to the total improvement we make to your property. We must deliver a two band increase to your property's energy rating (E to C, for example) so we use the information gathered during the survey of your property to determine it's current rating, and look at the measures it will take to deliver this improvement. If the necessary improvement can be delivered with the grant funding available, we'll be all set to proceed to installation.
-
Which areas do you work in for ECO4 Flex?We currently work with local authorities across the UK to deliver energy efficiency upgrades under ECO4 Flex, an alternative route to eligibility within ECO4 for households that would otherwise not be eligible for the scheme. There are a number of ways to qualify for ECO4 Flex, including low-income and ill health related routes. We currently work in the following local council areas: Basingstoke and Deane, Bristol, Buckinghamshire, Cherwell, Cornwall, Dacorum, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Mendip, North Somerset, Oxford, Sedgemoor, Sheffield, Somerset West and Taunton, South Oxfordshire, South Somerset, St Albans, Swindon, Three Rivers, Vale of White Horse, Watford, West Oxfordshire and Wiltshire.

What kind of home upgrades will I receive? The main scope of the scheme is to offer grant funded heating upgrades and insulation. The type of heating system we can offer is determined by a range of factors, including the amount of grant funding available, your tenure at the property and the existing heating in place. We are required to insulate any cavity walls and loft/roof spaces, so must offer these measures as part of the project. We offer a range of measures and will work with you to determine which measures are most suitable with the grant funding available.

When can I expect an update after my survey? We aim to contact all applicants within two weeks of survey to discuss the next steps, including booking an installation. If you're eager for an update, feel free to contact us by email or phone.

What can I expect after my installation?Alongside reduced energy bills and a more efficient home, expect to receive documents relating to your installation shortly after completion. These documents include warranty information and certifications (including your MCS certificate for solar panels and heat pumps). We typically send these via email, but if you'd prefer them in the post, please let us know.
